Job Description

Overview of role:

The Transition Lead is responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering the successful transition of outsourced operational services and capabilities. The role leads the transition of people, processes, systems, assets, knowledge and suppliers to ensure continuity of service, operational readiness and sustainable business outcomes.

Working closely with operational leaders, subject matter experts, external service providers and stakeholders, the Transition Lead develops and executes transition strategies that minimise operational risk and support the successful integration of outsourced transitional arrangements.

The role provides leadership across all phases of the transition lifecycle, including transition planning, due diligence, workforce readiness, knowledge transfer, process design, service mobilisation and operational handover.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end transition planning and execution across multiple workstreams.

  • Develop and manage transition plans covering people, processes, systems, governance and operational readiness.

  • Coordinate operational handovers and mobilisation activities.

  • Identify and manage project risks, dependencies and readiness milestones.

  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, project teams and external service providers.

  • Facilitate workshops, business analysis activities and stakeholder engagement.

  • Support procurement activities including RFPs, Statements of Work and vendor management.

  • Drive organisational readiness, change management and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the transition lifecycle

About you:

  • Extensive working knowledge and experience in Project Management and/or practical experience delivering projects in a Transformation environment.  Together with qualifications acquired through a tertiary degree or other in a business or Project Management field. Relevant industry certifications such as PMP or PRINCE2 Practitioner, Human Centred Design or Business Analysis Certification desirable, but not mandatory.

In addition to the qualifications and experience specified above, you will be required to meet the following criteria:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in project management or transition roles, leading cross-functional business project teams delivering operational and/or business change projects.
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse stakeholders to achieve complex project outcomes that have delivered business value.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to apply Business Analysis and Human Centred Design principles to lead engagement, communication and training.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships and to negotiate, communicate and influence effectively with staff and stakeholders.
  • Strong capability in identifying potential risks associated with projects and developing effective mitigation strategies. Adept at proactively addressing issues to minimise impact on project goals and timelines.

Salary:

The salary and conditions for this position will be as per the Coliban Water Enterprise Agreement 2021 Band 5 $115,162-$139,851 + superannuation salary range will be offered to the successful candidate commensurate with their skills and experience. This role is a Fixed term position.
