Job Description

 

 

Job Type: Fulltime Fixed Term (2 years)

Overview of role:

As an Asset Assessor, you’ll play a key role in understanding the condition and performance of our water and wastewater assets.

You’ll carry out field and desktop inspections, identify risks and defects, and translate your findings into actionable insights that support maintenance planning, renewal programs and long-term asset decisions.

This is a hands-on and analytical role where your work directly impacts service reliability, safety and community outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field and desktop inspections of water and wastewater assets
  • Assess asset condition, defects and failure risks
  • Capture and maintain high-quality asset data in our asset management and GIS systems
  • Provide clear, evidence-based recommendations for maintenance and renewal
  • Support risk-based decision-making and planned works programs
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance and planning teams
  • Contribute to compliance, audit and assurance requirements                            

About you:

You’re someone who enjoys getting out in the field but also has a strong eye for detail when working with data.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience in asset inspection, condition assessment or infrastructure environments
  • Understanding of asset management and risk-based decision-making
  • Strong data accuracy and record-keeping skills
  • Ability to analyse information and provide practical recommendations
  • Confidence working across teams and communicating findings clearly
  • Experience with asset systems, GIS or similar platforms (highly regarded)

A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel to sites is essential.

Salary:

The salary and conditions for this position will be as per the Coliban Water Enterprise Agreement 2021 Band 3 $74,200 - $90,097superannuation salary range will be offered to the successful candidate commensurate with their skills and experience.
