Overview of role: 

The Wastewater Process Engineer provides process engineering, operations and technical support to the Castlemaine Water Reclamation Plants (WRP) Major Projects teams to ensure that process designs meet performance, safety, operability, and environmental requirements.  

The Major Projects currently in delivery include the Bendigo WRP Solids Handling, Castlemaine WRP and Bendigo WRP upgrades. 

Key Responsibilities: 

As our Wastewater Process Engineer, you’ll be accountable for: 

  • Provide technical process expertise across design, construction, commissioning, and proving phases to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant wastewater treatment outcomes. 

  • Contribute to developing technical specifications, tender documentation, and vendor selection for major project procurement activities. 

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to deliver integrated process designs and seamless project outcomes. 

  • Support the development of wastewater technical standards, asset sustainability, and smooth transition of new assets into operations. 

  • Provide process engineering support to operations including input into operational procedures, operational management plans, contingency plans and incident and emergency management. 

About you: 

  • A professionally recognised tertiary engineering qualification, preferably in chemical, environmental engineering, or a related discipline. 

  • Experience in the operation, design and/or commissioning of wastewater treatment infrastructure. 

  • Experience in optimising WRPs and managing process risk and performance. 

  • Experience with Quality, Environmental and OH&S Management systems. 

  • Demonstrated ability to work with technical and operations teams. 

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a high-performing team environment.

Salary: 

The salary and conditions for this position will be as per the Coliban Water Enterprise Agreement 2021 Band 4 $93,548 - $112,895 + superannuation salary range will be offered to the successful candidate commensurate with their skills and experience. This role is a Fulltime fixed term role of 3 years.
