Job Description

Overview of role: 

Within the People & Capability team the Industrial Relations Lead provides expert guidance in human resources and industrial relations, working closely with senior leaders to deliver strategic people outcomes. This role ensures compliance with employment legislation, manages complex workplace matters, and supports organisational change while fostering a positive and collaborative workplace culture. 
Job Type: Full time, Fixed term 3 years

Key Responsibilities: 

As our IR Lead you’ll be accountable for: 

  • Leading and advising on industrial relations strategies, interpretation and application of the enterprise agreement, and changes to industrial relations legislation.  

  • Conducting and oversight of investigations, providing mediation and resolution services, and coaching leaders on managing conflict and people matters. 

  • Partnering with leaders to design and implement organisational change processes, including restructures, redeployment, and redundancy programs. 

  • Supporting existing business partner functions and learning and development initiatives. 

About you: 

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Law, Industrial Relations, or related discipline. 

  • Strong knowledge of employment and industrial relations legislation, with experience in complex or unionised environments. 

  • Proven ability to design and deliver effective HR/IR strategies, including organisational change initiatives. 

  • Accreditation or demonstrated expertise in workplace investigations, mediation, or conflict resolution (desirable).
