Overview of role:
With great plans, big things happening, and an exciting program of projects to help deliver safe, secure, and sustainable water services into the future, you’ll use your extensive communications and engagement skills to make sure our customers, stakeholders and the community know about the great things we’re planning. You’ll lead a tight-knit team delivering project communications and engagement plans, and our media relations program.
We are seeking an incredibly well organised and energetic individual, who isn’t afraid of a deadline or the unexpected. We want a natural problem solver who remains cool in a crisis, is planned and methodical, someone who writes like a pro, constantly thinks about the customer and their needs, and advocates for these needs back into the business.
Each day will vary, from crafting engaging, factual content to communicating with customers and stakeholders. At times, you'll be on-site to understand project impacts firsthand, always with a focus on effective communication and engagement.
You’ll become a trusted advisor for your colleagues, understanding their needs and delivering timely, accurate and proactive advice and communication to support important projects and activities.

Key Responsibilities:
As our Communication and Engagement Coordinator, you’ll be accountable for:
- Implement a proactive communications and engagement plan that aligns with Coliban Water’s vision and purpose.
- Provide leadership across the Corporate Communications and Engagement team.
- Provide strategic advice and advocacy about communicating and engaging with customers and other stakeholders as part of project delivery.
- Lead weekly team meetings, ensuring that matters covered include business priorities and opportunity for information sharing.
- Contribute to the Corporate Education program for schools and the community.
- Contribute to corporate style guidelines and ensuring they are consistently adhered to.
About you:
- Substantial working knowledge and experience in communications and engagement.
- A tertiary degree in Public Relations, Communications or similar.
- Knowledge and skills in in the development and delivery of communications and engagement plan and projects, including experience utilising various communications mediums.
- Exceptional analytical, communication (editing and copy writing) and problem solving.
- Substantial experience in media relations and issues management and coordination of a proactive media agenda, using traditional and digital channels.

Salary:
The salary and conditions for this position will be as per the Coliban Water Enterprise Agreement 2021 Band 4 $93,548 - $112,895 + superannuation salary range will be offered to the successful candidate commensurate with their skills and experience.
