Job Description

Overview of role:

Reporting to the Manager Finance Business Partnering, this role involves analysing project financials, preparing monthly capital reports as well as reporting to external stakeholders, and assisting with budget management.

You will support expense management, partner with project managers on various projects, and provide financial oversight and analysis to achieve objectives. Additionally, you will coordinate financial information for portfolio and project governance, manage PPPM tools, and ensure data integrity. Collaboration with the Program and Project Assurance Team is essential to ensure effective delivery of programs, including infrastructure and business improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities:

As our Finance Business Partner, you’ll be accountable for:

  • Support expenditure and program financial planning, budgeting and forecasting activities, including the delivery of reporting obligations set by the State Government.
  • Build strong relationships with Project managers, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and information exchange.
  • Assist with ensuring the integrity of project cost data captured in the ERP system including prompt rectification of coding errors.
  • Support end of month reporting and compliance activities.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the Finance and Program & Project Assurance functions and contribute to the implementation of best practices.

About you:

Strong working knowledge and experience in financial management together with qualifications acquired through:

  • A tertiary degree in Accounting or equivalent.
  • CPA/CA qualification or equivalent experience (preferable but not essential).
  • Preferably, exposure to project, program and portfolio management methodologies.
  • Relevant experience project accounting with strong analytical skills
  • A valid and current Australian workers’ rights.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and ability to use complex formulas.

Salary:

The salary and conditions for this position will be as per the Coliban Water Enterprise Agreement 2021 Band 4 $93,548 - $112,895 + superannuation salary range will be offered to the successful candidate commensurate with their skills and experience.
