Job Description

Position Overview

Coliban Water is a leading water utility dedicated to delivering high-quality drinking water, wastewater, and recycled water services. Operating 24/7, our Assets and Operations business unit plays a crucial role in designing, building, and operating water assets to meet the needs of our customers while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. We take pride in our assets to ensure we are safeguarding public health and the environment.

This position plays a role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of wastewater treatment and distribution systems. This position is involved in the daily operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of water reclamation plants and the Bendigo Recycled Water Factory (RWF). The WRP Operator works closely with a team of operators and technicians to ensure the efficient operation of water reclamation plants and the RWF, to meet regulatory requirements, and deliver reliable reuse water supply to customers and communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implementing innovative operational techniques to enhance efficiency and adaptability in wastewater treatment processes.
  • Maintaining and improving Water Reclamation Treatment Plant performance
  • Ensuring Coliban Water’s Lagoon sites and the RWF are well managed and maintained.
  • Ensuring maintenance activities are undertaken in a safe, timely and effective manner.
  • Adhering to necessary regulations and ensuring compliant operations
  • Proactively identifying operational opportunities and challenges
  • Driving initiatives that align with the corporation's strategic goals.

Skills & Experience

We are seeking someone with demonstrated experience in manual or technical based roles, and familiarity with industrial environments such as manufacturing, construction or related sectors. You will be proficient in operating mechanical and electrical equipment, supported by a sound understanding of how they function.

Salary

The salary and conditions for this position will be as per the Coliban Water Enterprise Agreement 2021 Band 2, ($62,475 – $72,897), plus superannuation, applicable allowances and overtime) salary range will be offered to the successful candidate commensurate with their skills and experience.
